I usually end up with lather splashed on the mirror from whisking up a mug of lather. I have too much to do in the morning to worry about bathroom chemistry so I just add it to the soap when I get it.
If MB's soap does it for you, by all means, stick with it. I was very happy with them when I started traditional wet shaving. Today I know of at least a half dozen soaps in my personal rotation that I find better, meaning I get closer and more comfortable shaves with them. Anyway, no single soap comes anywhere close to uberlather, let alone uberlather plus, IMO. YMMV, of course.

This alchemy sounds a bit like method shaving that has been extensively covered on B&B. Ever tried that?

I haven't tried the Glycerin yet but I too won't go back to soap by itself. If I don't have a matching scent in a cream I use MWF as it is pretty neutral as far as scent. I will try adding a drop of glycerin.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
