Thanks Gents, that gave me the laugh I really needed this morning.
Yes my poor legs have taken a bettering over the last 2 days. The bite eventually stopped bleeding 3 hours after the incident, I didn't even realise my legs had copped it due to the nibbles on my hand (which is fine BTW).
Neighbours sister has an 8 week old Blue Staffordshire Bull Terrier who came for a visit last night so I could meet him. I was holding the puppy and Tara and Georgie decided to square off with each other. It all happened so fast.
The last thing I wanted was for either of the dogs to get hurt, so in trying to sepparate them I moved the puppy up on my right shoulder and just stuck my left hand out between them. Georgie is responsible for the hand and Tara for the bite on the leg. Both of them were suitably shame faced about it when things had calmed down, I knew neither of them wanted to hurt me really but they got carried away in their spat.
The bite is on my right calf just a little lower down than the slice on my left. On the back of my left calf is a huge scratch with a lovely purple bruise surrounding it.
I was more p***d off about my lace tops being trashed than the bites and scratches. If this is the result because of wearing a skirt I'm back in my jeans in the future!
Butch yes I heal quickly which is a blessing and I have noticed that straight cuts heal faster than any others, thank you for the concern.

Hats off to the ladies!
It's great to see more people using straight razors, especially women.
As for the cuts, at least you can cover up your legs! Sometimes I have to roll into work with something like that on my mug :eek
(C utz, in the lab, working....the boss walks up to ask me a question, I'm thinking, "Please don't ask about the dueling scar, Please don't ask about the dueling scar, Please don't ask about the dueling scar")
Great work Silver!

Thanked: 22I noticed from the pics, that rarely is more than an inch or two of skin in contact with the blade. Would a shorter razor be easier to handle and keep track of? I have a beard and find that full size razors are constantly getting in trouble at the end I am not concentrating on. Smaller than normal razors are much easier to keep track of, and at least for me, end up shaving much faster. Pull up Mab razor, here or on Google. That is just one, but probably the most common. Other blades can be shortened by a good bladesmith. I have never read anywhere that nicks and cuts are a requirement of straight shaving. Learning the razor is extremely important and nothing can replace experience there. But experience can be gained in small pieces. I understand that most ladies shave their legs every three or more days. Concentration is very important, so why not shorten the chore to 1 leg on consecutive days. I highly recommend against a square or spike point blade for a beginner, as the slightest tilt toward the point will cause a nick, or cut. It is great to see some ladies trying the straights, but they have 10 times as much to shave, so it is going to take some time, even with plenty of experience. Thanks for the posts, has been very interesting.

Thanked: 22The great beginners section here should work well for the ladies as well as the guys. Although I suspect learning to shave legs may be more difficult than a face. Few places you can't see, and the face has more nerve endings to help us feel what the blade is doing. That eventually helps us to learn the angle to use and helps to keep us out of trouble. Good look. Look forward to hearing how it goes.
Thanks

I use a straight razor, but I don't have anyone hovering over me and I take my time.
