Thread: 5 O'Clock Shadow

Assuming I do my best, it's a 24 hour sort of thing. If I'm just shaving to look presentable, you can see it and feel it about 12 hours later. I'm finding it's been growing faster since shaving with a straight though. Who knows, next year it might be a real 5 o'clocker.

A full 3 pass shave, maybe 24 hours.
Quick, presentable 2-pass shave, slightly visible right after shaving. Maybe 12 hours till the 5-o'clock shadow.
I have a very steep grain in some places, and for those the shadow never really goes away.

I don't feel any stubble for close to 36 hours, but the shadow never really goes away.

Thanked: 1903Lee made me resurrect this thread. Shadow never goes away, tangible stubble after 6 hours. On a good day.

Around my mouth and on my chin hair is always visible. On my cheeks, it takes half a day. But my five o'clock stubble only occurs at five o'clock in the afternoon when I've shaven the night before.

I constantly have the shadow.
I have yet to master BBS shaving, so I constantly have at least a bit of stubble too. I'm beginning to think I may just have to live with that in some areas.

Thanked: 278I too used to have shadow even after a BBS shave. But now my beard is lighter, and grey in parts, so it doesn't show as much. In fact I think it's developing a camo pattern so it takes a fair bit of stubble growth before I look like I need a shave!
