I have an electric self cleaner it has not been used in years. I used to really enjoy it on my face but it gave some irritation if I tried to get a close shave on the neck. The cleaning station clogged itself multiple times and those foils are expensive and hard to track down. However I have yet to find a better way to shave while running on a train If I return to that lifestyle I might have to track down a new foil for it.

    Default Braun

Bought a new Braun in May. used it steadily until November.
    Had a problem
I had two major abdominal surgerys this year, the first being an emergency and the only way for me to shave was for my wife to shave me... at first... with the electric...
I remember sitting on the hospital bed listening to the humming of the razor while feeling the pulling and tearing on my face.
The shaves I got were poor.. even some bleeding as it cut off ingrown bumps developed from the last shave...
I have been a DE guys previously and had a goatee.. now with an electric it was like another nail in the...
Now, since November I have found some of my uncles old straights and have taught myself to use and maintain them through the help of this and other forum boards.
Shaving has once again regained its appeal (even more so now with the straights) and it is truely one of lifes pleasures
no more Braun for me.... God willin!
so I guess an electric DOES have a place...

Sure, lots of people use electric razors. But they are the folks who were bad in a past life and God is still punishing them.

Maybe god isn't punishing them. I just don't think they have seen the light yet like we have.

    I don't believe that for a moment!
Even when things are going as bad as they possibly can be,,, God is still within each one and is working according to his divine plan...

Yeah, I still have one. Its a Dutch Norelco and quite truthfully its a dream (the euro manufacture was exquisite, now outsourced in China...stay away). I have tried Braun....every type out there and they were skin eating monsters. (most people do not wait the two weeks as evidenced in the above posts). I used it for years and its gets almost as close as a straight, sorry gottum speakum truth!

If I am in a hurry it works............a straight when properly honed and stropped is a much better shave!
