I used to when I started out, but rarely if ever anymore!
Actually, except in the very beginning, I cant remember the last time I stropped between passes!Last edited by JMS; 01-09-2009 at 08:46 AM.

Never, I did try it but noticed no difference. If it works for you, it's good

Never did. I strop before using the razor and that's it. But as they say whatever works for you, go for it.

I don't strop inbetween.... I feel like if my edge won't last through the shave, then I'm gonna reach for a new razor to finish with. The first razor goes to the hones.

If I feel a razor isn't behaving as nicely as it should, I might re-strop. Between either WTG /XTG or XTG/ATG.
At the same time, I also lather and re-lather, in case the issue was prep/hydration.
If it feels like I'm getting torn up, I might even put on some oil or skin food at this time. Honestly, though, as I am getting better at all aspects, prep, stropping, and shaving technique, I find I need to do it less and less often. As a matter of fact, I just completed what I believe is the first ever 5 day work-week of three-pass shaves every day, as I had both the time and the need for good shaves every day. I didn't have to re-strop once (maybe thanks to the new SRD designs strop I have?????...or maybe a combo of that and learning what the heck I am doing!!!)
If it works for you, and you are getting good shaves, go for it! Man, I can't believe how often that's the answer here!

I strop between my two passes. Not so much because I think it improves the shave, but because it's just part of my routine. It has become one of those things that I started doing and now my minor OCD has taken hold of it. That and I just enjoy stropping too.

I have never done it, should I start now? is there a benefit of doing it? I have never read anything about that.
Al raz.

Honing a lot of ebay or whatever razors I come off of the hone and strop and shave. If the razor isn't up to my expectations on the first pass I rinse, re-lather and hit it on the hanging felt with diamond spray or the flat bed with chrom ox and do the second pass. Rarely have to do this but it seems to work well and improves the second pass. Then I go back to the hones with it. I don't like to go to a second razor when I am doing a shave. IF a razor is giving me a good shave I never strop between passes.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
