Exclamation 2 tips--warm up plus move face

While shaving yesterday morning, I came up with 2 new tips that really helped me. Don't know if they've been posted yet, but here goes:

    1. When you use 2 different razors in a shave (large one like my Zowada 6/8" for big areas like cheeks, small one like my Dovo Inox 3/8" or 2/8" for small, tight areas like chin, moustache and neck), after using Mr. Big, warm up with Mr. Small by starting on the biggest small area first.

Yesterday when I picked up Mr. Small I almost started with my moustache, which is one of my tighter areas. Then I caught myself and thought, "Hey, why not 'warm up' by starting with my neck, and THEN go to my moustache and chin?" Worked great for warming up my dexterity!

    2. For a few spots, once I placed the razor very gently on my face, at the right angle, it worked to move my face and hold the razor stationary...just like if I was sharpening a big knife or machete, and moving the stone while holding the knife stationary instead of the opposite.

I'll bet others have done this...and at certain times on certain places on my face, it worked great for me. I didn't try it on my neck, and don't really recommend it there as it sounds a bit risky for the neck.

    Hope these help!

I only use one blade during a shave, but thinking about it I suppose I do go for the larger areas first instinctively, finishing with the trickiest areas. Usually I go: face, neck, chin, upper lip.

Can't say I've moved my face whilst keeping the blade still. Imagine what would happen if my wife knocked on the door during my evening shave and asked "Hey honey, fancy fooling around together tonight?" and, what with the lather, I couldn't talk and just started nodding my head vigorously...

Yeah, moving my face while the razor is on my skin is scary. One of my great fears is that I'll turn to re-position my face before I remove the blade and give myself a nice slice.

I actually use the face-moving technique in the soul-patch area. I stretch my lip over the teeth and drag it over.

I never thought about this. Using 2 razors in a single shave...
