I've always thought hot lather was very over rated and the continual quest for it is like a dog chasing his tail. To me it makes no difference. I always get a great shave.

Thanked: 735Lately I've become dissatisfied with the fact that to get that warm lather on passes2-3, the heat in the scuttle contributes to lather breakdown, thus requiring more lather fussing to regain suds hydration.
You don't get something for nothing.

I don't obsess over lather temperature. Even when you get it hot, it only stays that way for a couple of seconds after being applied to your face.
Cold Proraso. I haven't tried it, only because I save the splash of cold water for the end of the shave, which closes the pores.

I usually end up with cold lather after the first pass but I also rinse with cold water after the first pass sometimes. I'm not quite sure yet because I haven't paid too much attention but I think I might actually get a better shave when I do that. My skin is sensitive but I guess with the cold water and lather my skin gets tighter and I'm able to shave ATG much easier. Does that make sense?

Hmmmm... I like warm lather...but there seem to be more people like cold lather so thats a no to your question.
To answer the question if you are crazy.. I looked up what wikipedia though about being crazy..it redirected me to madness or insanity.
Traditionally, insanity or madness is the behavior whereby a person flouts societal norms and may become a danger to themselves and others.
Well shaving with a straight might qualify you for that.. but cold lather doesnt really sound dangerous to yourself or others..
