Thread: Poll: How often do you shave ?

I am a daily 3 pass straight shaver. The shave gets the day off right with a modest feeling of doing what many consider a challenging task well. The wonderful thing about straight shaving is that I can see continued skill improvement over time.

Since I have to shave daily, I might as well enjoy it. So I take my time and relax.
Learning to use a straight razor has certainly increased the enjoyment. The only drawback I see is not being able to shave in the shower with a straight (at least I don't dare to).

You can safely shave with a straight in the shower if you wear a wet suit and fins otherwise you may be leaving some valuable parts behind!

I shave everyday now with the straight. I don't like to get up any earlier than necessary so instead of shaving in the morning, I wait until evening. It has become a relaxing evening ritual. My beard does not grow exceedingly fast so I still look fairly clean shaven in the morning.

I shave evelook forwardryday. My job requires I am clean shaven. One of the reasons I went to the straight is I have a havy beard and went through blades like kids go through candy. Ive come to look forward to my morning shave. Get it right and my day is set. Get it wrong well its still a good day. Not many people I know use a straight razor. The litttle nicks(and not so little) I wear as a badge of honor.

Straight shave every morning, sometimes will skip Saturday or Sunday. Helps get me focused and off on a positive note. I do enjoy the experience, stropping to shave to splash.

Wish I could shave every day but just dont get the coat for it. Every other for me, less if the weather is bad, I work at sea. Dont think Il be able to save tomoro for example, sea state 6

Every other day. Usually in the evening when I can slow down and enjoy it. Just had my razor honed by SRD....scary sharp. Now much nicer to my face. I'll be glad when I can get a razor honed to such a perfect edge. I am often checking my face anticipating a shave. I used to get up, scrape wiskers off quick as a wink and off to work I go. Now shaving is an event to look forward to. My wife thought I was nuts when I got the razor, but now she really likes the clean shave at night and my bay rum.

I work in an Islamic school and can get away with not being clean shaven every morning. But still I like to shave every morning because it is a great way to mentaly get myself ready for the coming day.
