I think we all want to achieve the closest, BBS, shave, but sometimes our skin doesn't wish so.
We all have our problem spots, mine is a tiny area in the middle of my neck left from my Adam's apple. If I do several passes, I know I'll be "red neck" for the next couple of works, but still I do this mistake often .
Don't use your left hand if you're not comfortable with it and don't focus on BBS, it is perfectly possible to get a near-BBS shave without doing several passes on a sensitive spot, just make fewer and lighter passes.
