Default Well I finally did it.

After 3 months of straight shaving I finally nicked myself, or should I say sliced my cheek. Today I recieved my first soap from Colleen, Bay/Sweet Orange and also got the big bottle that looks like a Grolsch Beer bottle of Ogallalla Bay Rum. Anyway I showered and lathered up Colleens soap, Man this is the best soap and I will never use anything else, Im not even going to try other soaps. Her soap is so slippery my razor was gliding like it was on ice, I dont know what happened but I cut a 3/4" slice in my cheek, the easiest part of my face to shave. I had blood mixing in with my lather, lol. Anyway I still ended up with the best shave so far, Colleens soaps are the bomb, I ordered some of her custom bowls and more soaps. As far as Ogallalla so far its my fav bay rum I have tried. Im not sure if the owner of the Ogalla bay rum is a member here but he hooked me up with more than what I paid for,and I like every sample he sent.

I believe Syd Barrett said it best when he penned the words, "Be Careful With That Axe Eugene".

It gets worse as you get older, believe me.

Sorry to hear about your cheek, but that's great you like the Ogallalla soap and bay rum. I've been meaning to try out some of their soap as well.

As an aside, the only bay rum scent I've smelled is col conk bay rum soap. It's "OK" to me, but not really my thing. Is this a typical bay rum, and if I'm not really too keen on it, I probably won't like any bay rum? Or are they all so different that I ought to try out some others too? Anyone have any experience with this one among others?

OK heres what happened to me with Bay Rum, I joined this forum and heard everyone talking about Bay Rum, I have never heard of it before that. I ended up buying Pinaud Bay Rum , when I put it on it smelled so strong to me and it was just terrible. I thought these guys are crazy, this stuff sucks. I tried it a few more times but still hated it and I gave it agway. I then tried Bay Rum fron the St Charles store and fell in love with the scent, I then bought Dominica and that smelled different but it was great, Now I have all the Ogalla Bay rums and they all smell really good, Im going to buy every Bay Rum made because now I love bay rum and dont even wanto to try anything else.

pjrage if you dont like the typical clove smelling Bay Rum, you could try Ogalla Bay rum/sandlewood. After it dries , to me it almost smells like baby powder. Its really hard to explain but it does not have that heavy clove scent. Its not real strong but it does last longer than the orignal flavor Bay rum, I did have a lady hug me today and she commented that I smelled nice, it was the first time I wore the Ogalla Bay rum/ sandlewood to work.

Took you 3 months to get your first cut? Well I beat you to the punch a long time ago.
I gotten a couple of decent slices on my cheeks, but nothing for a while.

I've heard nothing but great things about Colleen's soaps....I'm tempted to try it out.

I have had similar experance with pinaud bay rum .
Found it to be to spicy and the flavor didn't last long.
So I tried masters well comb bay rum and I like this one .
The scent stays on almost till you wash it off + must have a conditioner in it cause man its smooth and smells really good
sort of the baby powderesh . But I also want to buy the ogallalla bay rum
(the grolsch bottle ) .I have heard nothing but good things ,same with the soap .

Dave Colleens soap IMO is the best I have tried so far ,I have only tried maybe 10 soaps but her stuff is really good. She sells really small sample bars that are only like $2 and something. I came home from work today and my bedroom smells like Bay rum I left her soap on the nightstand last night.

Broncobob right now the (Grolsch Bottle) size is only like $20 and they threw in an extra sample of bay rum cologne.
