I would be REALLY careful about using a microwave to heat up a towel. Newer microwaves are much more consistent than they used to be, but they can still have hot spots.
You could very easily have a towel that felt just right when you reached into the microwave, but badly scalded your face at a hot spot. Frankly, I'd be more comfortable using boiling water out of a kettle. At least the whole thing would be the same temp, and you could just wait until it cooled enough for your face.

I sit on the toilet with feet on the bath edge and a thick towel on the window sill behind my head as a pillow. Sometimes I nod off for a while...

I have small hand towels that I run hot water from the faucet then squeeze most of the water out then hold to my face. I repeat this about 3 times and I am ready to shave.

I did this too, back when I used to do hot towels. Nowadays, I just shave just after teh shower, and skip the towels....I still enjoy them, buit it was one step I felt i could cut out, and stillget a nice shave. If I dont' have time for the shower, I tend to not have time for a Straight shave.
Back off topic....now I really want a reclining toilet. The luxury!
Newspaper....blah. Bring a magazine...BORING. A book, come on....
I want a NAP!

Paco-
When you finish that reclining toilet, could you possibly combine shipping with the genuine George Washington hatchet and Nigerian lottery tickets I'm getting from Utopian?

id say try about 20 seconds from the start, 10-20 second intervals to find what u like, And Always test with arms before wrapping around your face!
ive never had a problem
ive got a 1200 watt microwave, its pretty quick and even.
takes 30 seconds VS 5 minutes of boiling water
when u pull it out, with ur fingers, let it hang down, and give it a test squeeze between ur forearms
hehe ive been to a couple barber shops where they use there autoclave to heat towelsLast edited by The0ctopus; 05-15-2009 at 09:44 PM.
