Same here. I did about 30 minutes today. By the way, I set up this poll so you can vote more than once. If you allow for longer times, or surprise yourself with a quickie once in a while, please indicate this. I'm very grateful for the response to this and the other poll. Thanks for your help!

I always do the full "program": Pre, stropping, 3 passes (wtg, xtg, atg), after shave, and it always take me about 25-30 mins. I shave at night, so i'm not in a hurry. Before i started to use a str8, i used a DE, and with it it took me about 15-20 minutes.

I'm growing mutton chops. I shave in the bedroom, at the side of the window, only in sunny days and once or twice a week. Preparing a cup of perfect coffee and listening to a full CD are part of my shaving ritual. So 45-60' for me.

Buy hot towel machine, with delivery - 2weeks
Shop for towels for hot towel machine - 3 days
Rewire bathroom for hot towel machine - 3 days
Buy extra detergent for washing cold towels - 1 day
Get a few extra clothes pins for drying wet towels - 3 hours
Buy some new soap that caught your eye at SRD, with delivery - 3 days
Ship razor off to Lynn for a touch up - 8 days

So 32 days and 3 hours later, razor has still not touched cheek. Man, this straight razor shaving sure takes a lot of time.

Isn't straight razor shaving supposed to save us money as well?

    Default 45-60 for me

Well, better late than never I guess!

I usually shave at night so that I don't make any bloody mistakes by rushing through in the morning. The whole experience, from shower to end, is almost an hour. I count the shower time as beard prep, for sure, then followed by the shave.

I have less than 10 shaves under my belt, which most likely accounts for the long time in front of the mirror, but I don't mind it a bit!!

I usually only do two passes to reduce irritation, but even with three or more passes with a straight, I get less irritation than just one pass with Fusion. Can't beat that with a stick!!

Don't feel too bad, when I started I probably clocked in at close to an hour for the first shave at least. And that was just shaving, not including the shower.

At least you're sticking with your straight. Leave that fusion in the cabinet - where it belongs!

Okay, I timed myself last weekend. Leisurely Sunday shave, 2 passes with my usual ATG touch-ups here and there, a bit of experimentation (not much): 25 minutes. I did take a bit longer than usual so I guess I could shave some extra minutes off of that (pun intended). Not as long as I originally thought.

    Sometimes I even impress myself
