Thanked: 171Custom ought to be it's own option, no?
Anyway, it's sheffield for me, for now. Will probably change as new razors are acquired

This was a tough choice for me between Germany and England. I love my Dorkos but I have a W&B with custom scales that also really rocks.

Thanked: 335I'm teetering upon the horns of dilemma. For a desert isle I'd pick my SS 7/8 Friodur, rust resistant for that salty air clime and one slick shaver. If I had to use only one razor in the comfortable convenience of my own bathroom, I'd have to pick a Le Grelot 1/4 hollow, an awesome razor with a shoulderless grind.
France won, but it was almost too close to call.

Thanked: 735Hmm, where a razor is made, or where the steel is from?
I have had a couple of Solingen razors that were made with Sheffield steel, so where would they fit?
And the Dovo stainless are made with Swedish steel, so how about them?

I voted England because I ass-umed you meant production razors. Otherwise I guess it'd be New England, USA for my RW razor.

Honestly guys if you put a gun to my head and asked me to pick the favorite razor or country of manufacture, well, I guess I'd have a big hole in my head. I couldn't pick just one.
Just like that old commercial about not being able to eat just one potato chip.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

OK, what if I asked it this way: which razor shaves the best for you, big? I mean, I should have asked that, because a persons favorite razor might not be the one that shaves the best... or maybe I'm wrong?
By the way, thanks for voting and polling, everyone! I am putting the finishing touches on a project I will present to this forum soon, as a gift of sorts. I like mystery!
