Well, I had my first SRP Special Razor shave this morning!

The razor (#30) came pretty sharp, but I like to inspect the edges, and I like to see a certain level before I feel it is ready to strop and shave with. It did show a couple of minor burrs near the very tip that came off with the first pass on the 8K hone.

I gave it 2 round trips over the Norton 4K to prep the steel, then 5 round trips lightly on the 8K, and about a dozen on the 13K Chinese. Loved the way the edge looked at 100X, so I lovingly gave it 20 on the TI pasted Dovo Linen strop, and then 30 over the smooth leather side. 10 more on the Illinois 361 for a fine finish, and it was time to shave!

I decided to try-out the new soap I had this time, as well, from L'Occitane. No pre-shave, just the soap.

The soap was okay - dried a bit quickly, but a nice, face-covering lather and mild scent.

The RAZOR was just unbelieveable! This was one of the smoothest, closest, nick-free shaves I have ever had! These SRPs take an edge easily, and shave like a dream! I have about a dozen really nice shavers in the rotation - the 7/8 Perlmann, a nice Puma, W & B, etc. - and this SRP Special razor stepped-up to challenge them all! I could sell-off all the others, and shave for the rest of my life with just these two! WOW!

What a nice job TI did with these!

CAUTIONS - These are very good-looking razors ..... you MAY have a tendency to admire the razor while you are shaving, rather than where it is going! So be mindfull! LOL! Also, it was so much fun to shave with, you MAY also have a tendency to "overshave", just to keep the experience going!

I will be shaving with this for a while, to see how the edge holds up, and to experience this nice a shave again!!!

THANKS, Ray! THANKS, TI!!

Best -

Smooth as a newborn's butt today....
