A bit of soap works very well for me. If you use the right amount of soap ( just a really little bit), the mirror will look as it does normally with or without steam. I usually have to reapply about every 2 weeks or so.

I just wipe the soap on the mirror with my hands and move the soap around a bit on the mirror to make sure it is evenly covered. I haven't had problems with this method as long as the mirror is wet during application.

If steamed up real good I give a wipe with a dry towel and then use the HAIRDRYER to make a dry warm spot that is clear as can be. That in conjunction with the fan and the door open a crack works every time for me.

    Good luck!

I run the bathroom exhaust fan right up until I go to strop the razor (I shut it off then so I can hear the razor on the strop). This works for me. If I did not have a fan, I would probably leave the door open while I showered (this is what I do in hotel rooms).

I installed a fan heater pointing down near the mirror. Turning it on for a minute or two clears any fog and warms the mirror enough that it stays clear after you turn it off.

And yes, I made sure to mount it real securely.

I'm with Ogle - leave the door open.

Given your situation, you might want to try showering with lukewarm water,or even a bit cool. It's the HOTness of the water that makes the fog.

If you want to go high-tech(ready expensive) route, you can try a liquid called fog tech, or get some anti fog spray at a dive shop.

Low-tech, rub some shampoo (as someone already suggested) or diluted dishwashing detergent on your mirror. Use only a tiny amount or you will get streaks.
