    Default You Forgot What?

    Gentlemen,

The great Beethoven — the magnificent genius who was also quite forgetful — sometimes would lather his face and then forget to shave.

Today at the mall, for my usual pilgrimage to the L'Occitane shop, I saw a well dressed man with a 3-inch sliver of toilet paper fluttering like a streamer below his right ear. I did the right thing and stopped him. "Excuse me, sir," I said, pointing to his ear, "you must have cut yourself shaving."

He found the toilet paper and pulled it off. "How embarrassing," he said. "I got this new razor."

Hah! I thought. Perhaps a straight razor gentleman. "What kind of a razor?" I asked, beaming.

He mentioned the brand, but I forget what it was. "It has four blades," he added. "Great razor."

"Ah, four blades, eh?" I said, disappointed.

"Guess I forgot to remove the toilet paper where I cut myself," he said.

Which brings me to this question, gentlemen: What was the last time you forgot something essential in relation to your shaving? Anything at all that made you scratch your head, puzzled.

    Regards,

    Obie

On occasion, I've forgotten to start with the WTG pass. Halfway through, I've realized the problem is not a dull razor. Until then, I had wondered whywe to the WTG, since it doesn't seem to take much off. But without, I certainly notice the difference.

Well I haven't had a moment like that with a straight yet, but I did have a rather embarrassing DE moment one morning.

I was enjoying the smoothest shave of my life and realized after touching my face after my WTG pass that I had conveniently forgotten to replace the blade I had taken out of my razor the day before (if I don't take the blade out after a shave, I never remember to switch it before I start shaving).

I can't remember any shaving related stories to offer, but I forget to rinse the shampoo out of my hair on the regular

I have one that does not pertain to shaving. I hope its okay to post here.

About 12 years ago I went to the store a couple of blocks from my house after work. this was a year or so after my divorce and I had managed to fall in love with the prettiest baker you have ever seen ( my wife now ) Well, I parked the car in the lot and picked up the necessary items the whole time day dreaming about my wife to be ( I had it bad ) I wen't home, fed myself and prepared for the following day before hitting the hay. The next morning when I went out to the car to go to work it wasn't any where to be seen...yep, you guessed it. I left it at the store parking lot.

I've forgotten to strop loads of times.

Frequently, when taking a trip to the post office, I forget to stop at the bank to pick up cash (it's a university campus post office, so they don't take credit cards). I've even forgottent to take the sheet I write addresses on.
I frequently leave the house without glasses (I don't need them around the house, but I do to drive).
I forget where I put stuff all the time (like keys, wallet, glasses).
    ...I'm quite forgetful.

So, you're asking a guy in his 60s if he ever forgets anything?

Wait -- what was the question?

    My dear Bob,

I know exactly what you mean, since we both cruise the same neighborhood.

I went through a phase a month or so back when I'd strop on the linen, lather up and then forget to strop on the leather. I did this with a few different razors but the one that stood out was a George Butler half-hollow, I didn't even notice until I came to strop it dry and found the linen still facing me.
