    Default Beau Brummel

I would like to see who owns a BEAU BRUMMEL collection or if anyone has any C.S. BRESNICK razors. I am basically looking for any info or photos of old razors from these two names from razor history. Also if anyone has any idea what the elusive "NAPOLEAN" razor looks like let me know. I believe that the BEAU BRUMMEL shaves smoother than the DD WONDEREDGE. I believe the WONDEREDGE is way overrated!

    Default Beau Brummels

Yeah I have a few of them three #35's and two #18'sThe 18's are the better shavers IMHO I would rate them similar to a DD GoldEdge The 35's I would rate like a SatinEdge... I would not go so far as to say they will out shave my WonderEdge... But honestly they all are great shavers if you a partial to full hollow grinds....Some people think there is no difference between any of them, which I have a problem digesting after honing so many, but that is just one man's opinion...

I have owned and honed a ton of these razors. They are definitely very nice shavers and really hard to find in great condition these days. They are in that category for me, of very nice shavers. I don't feel better than the Wonderedge either, but they are on par with a bunch of other razors that I love shaving with.

    Enjoy,

    Lynn

I have 2 Wonderedge's, 3 Goldedge's, and 5 Beau Brummel's, # 18, 3-35's, and a 40. I base my opinion on the fact that one of my #35's is the smoothest shaver in my collection. Now I may be fairly new to this game but I can also understand that there are many variable's that can fall into play, such as: how the razor's been honed, size of razor, steel temper, and other science, even your skin, face, and hair. So, for me I just like the Brummel #35. I sure can appreciate and respect the Wonderedge, I just wasn't that impressed. The Wonderedge can sound almost "Majical" by the way it has been "hyped up".

All I've got is a Brummel wedge and a 35. Both are real good shavers as any Bresnick I've shaved with is. The one Wonderedge I've got is a good one but I found it harder to hone than any of the other Dubl Ducks I've got and personally prefer the Goldedges, Satinedges, Specials and Lifetime. Now I've got to find a Brummel 18.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

If you want "magical" you should get a CHRONIK.

I have a few of those. Check daffy ducks in the clubs section. keep in mind Brummel was a totally separate company apart from the ducks. At some point there was an arrangement between Brummel and pearlduck to sell their razors in the U.S. The early Brummels are marked Beau Brummel Werk and the later ones are marked Beau Brummel and have the Jamaica N.Y address of Pearlduck on them. I've never seen the Napoleon ever come up on Eboy and if one did I would be afraid to think what it would go for.

That's great input! Yeah, the Brummel "Werk" are the one's I'm after, I have 3 "Werk" and 2 Beau Brummel razor's. I don't know the date's in time of when the company made the change. I do see the same BB's made the same way yet, the only difference is the name "Werk" or "Beau Brummel" on the tang. I prefer the "Werk" razor's. I love the hammered tangs. Where's Napolean?
