Cool Repent the end of the world is night

I never ceased to be amazed at what some people can drum up. Some years ago someone showed me a book written entirely on the theme of the dangers of drinking cows milk. Humm....maybe we should grow beards and start drinking soy milk

My comment was meant in jest, which seems to have been the purpose of the thread, which was also loosley based on a crackpot religious pamphlet, so I had thought I was on-topic.

    Ah well....

I think it has been two years since I last posted, but I had to sign in to give you props for that. Way to end a discussion.

That monk was protesting the war in Vietnam. But his bald head testified to his position on shaving.

The problem here is that the Decalogue (first five books of the bible) contain over 300 laws governing the life of the JEWS. They did not have the option to "cherry pick" which laws to pick; you either kept the entire law or nothing at all. The same book forbade a person to wear garments made of different materials. This means that nowdays a person wearing a blend of cotton and polyester is transgressing the law, just like shaving ones face.

I don't know...I must have been the only one to think that the book didn't make a cogent argument against shaving, more like a meandering book of musings that anything.

I want my four pence back!
