    Default SON OF A &$*#@!!!

Just shaved, nicked a few little spots on my neck because it was the first time I have ever shaved using both hands. Do many people do this??

Anyways thats not bad. I was stropping a few times after my shave and starting to get the hang of stropping I went a little faster than usual. I use the Filly from ruprazor and I was going faster and I lost control of the razor and it flipped and cut a little layer of leather. Now I guess I'm lucky because it didn't cut completely through the strop, my question is will this part effect the razor while stropping? If so how can I fix it. Please help me.

Also, is a syptic pencil supposed to burn when you rub it over the nick.

It happens man, my first strop has a bunch of little nicks all over the front. If you could take a picture of it that might help the people who know more about it assess the condition.

I use both hands and I think many, if not most, use two hands. That said, whatever works for you.

You'd have to post pictures for people to see before they could really answer this question. It may be fine, but if the cut is significant, it might be a problem. Not sure now to fix that or if you can, but one of the experts here could answer that.

Yep that's normal. Salt in the wound, so to speak...

i don't think that will affect the edge, as long as you strop properly, i.e. keep the strop flat and the spine of the razor in contact with the strop.
you can smooth the edges of the missing layer with pumice stone if you want.

Now do you mean make the whole thing even again with that stone?

I think it would be fine to continue using the strop as is. When I first started I nicked my strop worse than that and continued to use it without any problems.

And, yes, the stuff burns! The bigger the cut, the bigger the burn.

Good luck -- and hang in there. It will pay rich dividends down the road.
