    Talking Barber Shop Shave Locations

I was just in Minneapolis and thought I would let you guys know that the Barber Shop in the Airport still does straight razor shaves. Do you guys know of any other locations? I wonder how we can start a list in here. Lynn

Gearhead in Chico, CA. You can get a haircut, shave and tattoo. Along with a beer while you are waiting. Also he cuts mohawks for free...

Are we counting "shavette" shaves or just straight razors?

I vote straight shave only. It is a whole different feel, and it's the real deal. I remember shavettes on the back of my neck and I never liked it.

If so, then I amend my Cornell Barber Shop, Ithaca, NY to 'shavette' shave. But they do this by law (though they have their old strops hanging off the chairs to keep the look of the shop traditional)

I finally found one. Eddie's Barber Shop in Spring, TX (I-45 @ Rayford Rd.) just north of Houston. I took my son there to get a haircut (he wanted a certain cut) and saw one of the guys shaving somebody'n neck so I asked. Unfortunately they don't use a str8 or brush/soap/mug. They use a feather and soap/shaving cream machine. I'm gonna go try one possibly next week. I'll post results.

    Hey all,

I should chime in by saying that in New York City, any barber will shave you. There's even a boutique "gentleman's barber" on Madison ave (I think), called the art of shaving or something like that. I would think at first blush, they might be willing to shave you.
The moral of the story is come to new york for a shave!
