Thanked: 0i really wanted to like the idea of warm water shaving, but i keep getting consistently better results with colder water. i tried again tonight to have a nice "pampering" shave. and it just didnt go as well. the day before i did a rushed shave with cold water and overall had less irritation (i did miss a few spots but thats cuz i was rushing)..... overall i think its the cold water for me.... and its really not that bad.

I'm really liking the results of the cold water shave. But my lather seems to not go as far as it does with hot water. I'm using Mitchell's wool fat. Anyone else experience that aswell?

You could have hard water. That could explain the difficulty using cold water with MWF. Try distilled water and see what you get as a result. I know it does seem strange buddy in the 18 eighties phew people had available hot water for shaving. Good luck and do let us know how this works out.

I used MWF with cold water and a mixed hair brush last night and had no problem making lather. MWF can take more water, whether it's hot or cold.

I've been doing the cold water shave for a couple weeks now, using both Cella and MWF, and with both I've had great lather. I just put a little water on the top of the soap, soak my brush in my mug (cold water also), shower, then face lather, strop, and shave. I think it really is a superior shave. Just my 2 cents..

Ok. Maybe just me. I'm still getting great lather. Just less of it. Maybe being cold I just spend less time on the puck. Lol

With the MWF, you really do have to load up the brush. What I find helpful is to shake the excess water off, and start swirling for about 30 seconds or so, then drip a little water on the brush, and to back to loading. Once that brush is good and soaped up, I splash some water on m face and go to town!
