SHAVING WITH A STRAIGHT IS GREAT!
It is. I enjoy this part of my morning routine more than I ever would have thought possible.
It's been about a year and five months since I started, and I find new and fantastic things consistently. I just found out there is a wet-shaving related specialty shop that just opened about 15 minutes from my house. The owner is a nice guy (apparently has met and talked to a bunch of the guys here) and is having none other than Robert Williams over in a few weeks for a honing clinic (and I'll be buying another Williams razor, I think).
But why do I feel the need to tell you all this?
Well, because this is my One Thousandth post, and I wanted it to be about shaving, and the great community I've found here, and not the other drivel that I usually spout on and on about.
Thanks all, for a great first 1000. I learn more every day here, and look forward to continuing to do so. I have met so many good dolks here, too...and I hope I can continue that as well.

Happy 1000 and here's to another 1000 .
Where in CT is the store? I'm going to be heading down to visit a friend of mine this weekend and I might be interested in swinging by as well as the week of the demonstration.

It is in Southington. (about 15 minutes west of Hartford on 84).
If this isn't against the rules....it's called gentleman's best (www.gentlemansbest.com)
If you go, tell the owner that the guy from SRP that talked his ear off the other afternoon sent ya!

A local wet shaving shop having a honing clinic?!?! He may not be one of the SRP honemeisters but the man appears to have impressive credentials.
I'll check it out!

Caught me mid-edit!
I checked out his site, looks like a nice little shop. He seems to have a small selection of straights but I'm always a fan of supporting local businesses.
Hmm, he's got some nice soaps! I'm due for some MWF and for $35 in the dish, Ill definitely drop in.

Congratulations on the mile post. Cool post. Thanks for sharing. It really is amazing the way a more calm, mindful, morning ritual sets the day up.

Thanks for the post. I am about 100 Miles south but I think I will attend the May 1st event.

Just looked up directions and my weekend destination is under ten miles away. Guess I'll be stopping by this weekend.
