Thread: Finally got my razor

I think that it will be a while before I attempt another XTG or ATG pass again. I tried doing that last night and I'm lucky to still have my head attached...
I am going to get thoroughly used to the razor doing WTG passes; when I am confident with that then I will try the others. I tried to do a XTG on my cheek and somehow, through my own clumsiness, ended up dragging the razor sideways (parallel with the blade) and damn near laid my face open. Scared the hell out of me. Wife is not real happy with my new hobby
I guess that I need to sloooooow down a bit...

spinsheet,
Go with what is comfortable for you. Above all, as you've already figured out, go slow. Take your time while aiming for that close shave. Perfect your technique. I have been at this for several months and still make several passes WTG and ATG to get a close, comfortable shave. I only achieve BBS several times a month, not everyday. In fact, its only recently that I began shaving ATG on my neck--and only my neck--using the same technique that Lynn uses in his dvd to achieve the closest shave possible to my liking.
What is true of DE razor shaving is true of str8 razor shaving as well. Your goal is beard reduction, not the complete elimination of your beard in one or two strokes.
Take care--and smooth shaving.Last edited by jhenry; 03-30-2010 at 01:56 AM.
