    Eloquent as usual, Obie!

Unfortunate as it may seem the "holy grail" may just be that - that which will be much sought after, but will it ever be found? It will when you realize it is within you

Perhaps it is indeed not the destination but the journey, the little moments that should be cherished but are often over looked during the quest for the ultimate shave. It is this place, my friend, that I believe we can both appreciate.

Plus, on a lighter note, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who takes 45 minutes from shower to walking out

    Best regards,

    Ryan

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

different strokes. my perfect shave is one I don't have to think about.

When the shave feels natural and easy then I'm free to take as little or as much time as I like with confidence and without complaining about this or that imperfect aspect of the tools, products, or result

    Thanks Obie.

Yes - we've all got different ideas of what the 'Holy Grail' of our shave is.

    Me?

I'm chasing the most efficient, comfortable and smooth shave.

Efficient? Time, cost, water. As little 'stuff' as possible - less clutter the better.

Comfortable? Feels good during and after shave. Unhurried.

Smooth? Whichever way I rub my face.

Generally, I'm pretty happy with my shaves - but always working on improvement. I like the routine I have at the moment.

    All the best,
    Michael.

Obie, you leave me at a loss for words. I will go to sleep tonight and dream of that perfect shave, and hope that mine can be that good tomorrow.

    Cheers,

    Larry

    Hi Obie,

A great post and a great read, as always! Thanks for writing!

For me, the Holy Grail is the perfect shave from start to finish. A good lather, a well honed and stropped razor, getting all my angles just right and clearing off every last trace of stubble. Then splashing on some cold water, applying skin food and feeling that soft velvety feeling on the skin that is the mark of the BBS shave.

    All the best,

    Stuart

The Holy Grail. I have to say now that I've thought about it, It's not at all what I would have expected (sort of like Dan Brown's version of it). I never get what I would really call a BBS shave, though I get a decent one every day. Maybe my standards are too high. The act of shaving itself is enough. Most days, it's that anticipation that gets me out of bed. I'd have to say, the process is the goal. By the way, I loved Obie's scene of being in the company of esteemed writers from different periods. It reminds me of the scene on the holodeck, where Data is playing poker with Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.

    Obie,

Thank you for those wonderful words.
For me i think the Holy Grail must be a combination of all those elements that make a good shave. Not only razor or its brand, but how i've learned to handle and prepare it and how i've made the lather. All these done with ease and no stress. Finally aftershave of my choice.
