Thread: any single pass guys out there?

ok guys.. so i went ahead and shaved with a mach3 cartridge today.. and yeah.. although i was a smooth shave and i had no stubble.. i still felt as if a single pass with my artist club using professional light blades was a ton closer.. in fact.. i noticed a huge difference.. not in appearance.. but in feel.

I do 2 passes. 1st is WTG on my entire face. Then I do ATG on my neck and Xtg on my cheeks and Chin. After, I do a small clean-up on the chin because my chin is tough.
If I do more than that, the aluminum BURNS!!!! I know my technique and blade angle were ok by the lack of post shave burn!!

I am still new (bout 5 months) and am finally getting a close shave. I know this since I do the boobie test and PASS!!

true.. a baby's ass is still smoother than my face.. but you could put my face up against any other 29 year old's face and i think i'd come out on top..

anyone else gone all the way back to one pass?

i do a single almost all the time, I try not to be so crazy about getting every shave bbs

Me too.
If I need to speed up things, I face lather and then I shave with one WTG pass. That's all I need to get very presentable and it cuts shaving time by half.

I to have found when in a hurry a single pass is fine, just means I might have to shave a day or so earlier, when I wish to have a very smooth face two passes with the first agin the grain mostly on the neck,and under the chin, across the grain on the cheeks and over the chin. The War Office is ver happy with the single pass as she reckons 2 girls in the place is bad enough with out a third ! taking up the bathroom, She even put a new hook up in the outside loo for my strop, just in case, Cheeky Cow !!

Single pass is all I have ever done, and all you need if you do it right.

I am thinking of switching to WTG 1 pass only for comfort and speed, the BBS is looking less and less worth it to me.

Sometimes I'll do just one WTG pass (usually if I've just got too itchy a face before bed) and a touch up or two to catch the strays. This doesn't get me anywhere near BBS, but I'm doing it for the time aspect not the result.

If I had a to shave last minute for work or something, this could work in a pinch.

I have been doing shaving demonstrations lately for my friends and coworkers. Sometimes I end up doing 4 days in a row. If I do more than a single pass, not only do I not NEED a shave the next day, If I DO it, I get a bit of burn. But a single pass shave leaves me smooth enough for a normal day, and allows me to shave again if needed the next day.

Nothing wrong with a single pass, unless your date that evening is expecting silky smooth cheekyness

Since starting with the cold water routine, I've been doing a one pass every other day. A few touch ups as well, under the chin and sides of mouth seem to be my betes noires on that score.
