    Default Many Thanks

To all who replied..very friendly forum and many thanks for all advice.

Hope I have not jumped too soon, but have just ordered the beginners hone set from Tilly(nice lady)..have a strop..razor I have I think I have destroyed, tried honing before reading this forum using a normal hone..so

Have my eye on a few razors on ebay at present but unsure how good or bad they are...and embarrasing enough a number of members on this board are bidding...so I dont really wish to "compete" halwilson is on at least 3 of them.

Again thanks for all help and advice.

You MAY still be able to save it. If you just dulled the blade without chipping it, you should be able to hone it with some extra elbow-grease. If you chipped it, then you can still use it as a practice piece for honing, but you'll have to get yourself a new blade to actually shave with.

    Irish,

Don't let the fact that members are bidding stop you from bidding. In fact the fact that members are bidding is a good thing, it shows you have made a good choice of a razor to bid on. The reality of the situation is you are probably doing us a favor as we are too addicted to buying razors anyway.

I'm in on a couple as well. One would be a perfect mate for the DOVO handle and the other would be great on its own. Not providing any details until the auctions are over

But I had my heart set on another blade made by true sons of mother-Deutcheland, Habib and Azif Ah well, this wood-cutter's axe will have to do :P

P.S. Thanks are in order. Nenad gave me the heads up. I'll have to do something nice for him when I go to Macedonia to visit my family
