I hear you. I got hit as a kid but never too badly. I make it a policy to punish my kids by taking away privaledges. I found it more effective than spanking. Just my 2 cents.

If I do have'em, once they get old enough, I'd try punishing them by making them do useful work like changing the oil, cleaning the bathroom, writing an essay, sharpening the lawnmower blade etc etc etc, all under my constant supervision. That way they get punished for being hellraisers, they see that I care and they learn useful life skills

This stuff would be on top of their regular allowance-earning chores like vaccuming, mopping, mowing, shovelling snow and doing the dishes (depending on the age and number of kids) lol.

Only if they play with'em and damage the blade. That should teach'em a valuable lesson on how much effort it takes to get a blade to be shave-ready

Been Thinkin'
re. Keeping Women: I was a self proclaimed lifelong bachelor, a Benedick before I met Validator. Not that I was against it, just figured a guy like me would never find a permanent girl. After five years I realised I wanted her around in perpetuity and I was proven wrong on the bachelor account.
re. The Cycle of Abuse: You're 100% right FiReSTaRT, it must be broken and this is the best time and place. Anybody not of the same mind must be brought around if you can or left behind until they can.
re. Female faults: Those of us in glass houses ...
re. Disciplining Children: Positive reinforcement always works best. Rather than making chores a punishment, reward them for their hard work on the chores regularly. Then they learn their skills and appreciate doing the chores more frequently for being good!

Arrrrgh Maties!
Raise the main sail we have a thread drift!
I think the video is terrific! Just don't try to use it as an instructional tool. Another great example of the fact that a video isn't any different than any other post. Its just a shot of the way HE does things.

It's really dependent on the shape of the face and it is a good illustration of the advantages of a straight razor: The angle of the blade can be altered to fit the shape of your face, the density of the hair growth, the individual regions of the face/neck or any other condition. Mine is too angular and irregular for doing what Brian was doing lol.
P.S. You were right about drifting and I'll try to keep it down.
