That truly is a nice sound though,you really feel like your doing somthing good and productive as opposed to the ho hum of the ol fivebladed beastie and his goo can accomplice . Welcome to SRP and yeah ,you really should strop.If you haven't already got a good strop,check out the 3" strops from SRD,they are awwwwesome!! Cheers

Yeah, I got my 3" strop from SRD, and already have a few nicks in it.

Thanked: 1160goaT...Sorry to hear bout the nicks...however...fear not.I did the same and called up SRD,they said you could either take a real fine pumice or sandpaper and gently sand'em out.Then,apply just a smidgen of neatsfoot oil once and from then on just rub with the palm of yer hand.Besides,I'm getting over the nick worry syndrome and realising as long as it's not gashes, it's character.Things need to look like they've been used right ?! Here's to buttered toast n ice scrapins woohoo! Oh yeah and I have the Dovo Special 5/8.. love that razor. If only I could afford the Thiers Issard La Canadiene 5/8 tortoise shell...
