Now I just go at an angle and it seems to get the corners pretty good, as long as I don't put too much of the blade over my mouth. It is a small area for error but it is getting easier to do.
Same here. 'Corners are sensitive skin, + I have annoying bumps in/near the mouth corners. I likewise use cross-handed, and do alot of buffing or I'll mow the tops of the bumps. I can now avoid bump-mowing better than I ever could w/ disposable multi's or DE. When I do my part, I bleed less w/ a str8 than anything else.
Remaining annoying area, I can get 90% and that may have to do. It's really helpful to this noob of 3 mo. to hear frustrations as well as successes. Thanks to each of you sharing the less than stellar parts of your journey.

It seems a lot of us have issues with the hollows of the neck up under the jawline area. I'm thinking of saving up enough cash to get one of those nice smiling Sheffield blades (W and B, Rogers, etc.) to see if I can get a little more blade into that area.

Like some others I see on here, I avoid the whole issue of the moustache and chin with a goatee.
There are many roads to sharp.

My problem area for attaining a BBS shave is the shallow on both sides of my Adam’s Apple about 1 inch square, and I refuse to use a DE to get it… call it obstinate or whatever you like, I know I can get there with just a straight… eventually.

I found that if I push from the opposite side, forcing the shallow to bulge out it becomes easier.

Maybe I need to try a W&B or some ‘smiling’ blade to get it on the first or second pass.

in between my windpipe and the muscles on the side of my neck is a biotch...the hair grows almost front to back/horizontally rather than up and down...challenging enough with the Merkur DE...SE is gonna be a trick for sure...

My left upper lip always seems to give me the most problem. It seems like there are always a few strays left afterward. Spike point seems to work best to get those individuals, but it is slow going.

Ha -- I actually do the opposite. I pull those parts from the side when I'm shaving around that spot on my neck.

I guess a combination of both would make for a Dr. Doolittle character... "Push me Pull you"

I have a hard time with just a few hairs around my adams apple.

They're kind of loners, and they grow sideways. But even if I approach them sideways ATG, they still won't go away. I always try to get them, but only 1 or 2 easy passes for now. If I do more, that area just gets too irritated.

I'm hoping my skin will evolve and get a bit tougher so that maybe I can do an extra pass in that area to get them all the way down.

The underside of my chin on the left side of my face. Hair growth is thickest. I have to make a 4th pass to go ATG after both sides of XTG and the WTG initial shave... lol rough going to get a smooth face

Just curious, did you have to work up to that 4th pass or have you always been able to do it?

I can't do more than 1 or 2 passes under the chin. I'm hoping that'll change as my skin get's used to it.
