    Default Funny story...

So...I am talking on the phone early this morning, post stropping my Eskiltuna 32...I decided to do a HHT on a smallish hair whilst cradling the phone and talking...you can see where this is going. The blade was sharp....enough to slice a nice "u" through the part of my left index finger below the nail. Zero pain, I didn't even pause my conversation as choruses of "idiot" ran through my head. I poured alcohol in the wound, put direct pressure and stopped the bleeding with a tight bandage for a shower and shave...got dressed and stopped at the health unit where I worked to ensure things were ok. The nurse who checked me out seemed a little bemused and confused on how someone could cut themselves on a razor. She asked me if it was new. I told her it was from ca. 1930....she shook her head and the doctor came in. Young guy, fresh out of the Army. He checks out the cut and tells me it won't need stiches, gives me some bandages and ointments...but asks me if he heard the nurse correctly that I had cut myself on a straight razor. I said yes, expecting some "why would you use that?" comment. He said "And I thought I was the only guy who used one of those!"
A nice conversation ensued and I sent him a link to this site. Funny, small, bloody world, eh?

Oh, and the MK 32 shaved like a dream. Nary a nick on the face either, I might add!

Great story! It's good to see connections being made and only at the cost of a little skin. I mean, it's a small wound after all!

Cool story. I too was a little shocked when I mentioned my hobby to a co-worker who mentioned that he was using a DE and fancy soaps, brushes and had even tried straight razor shaving. I thought that was pretty neat.

I get the same reaction when I tell people how I shave...I just about decapitated my thumb recently. Shaking water off the blade, I hit my left thumb, don't ask me how I did it, Just luck I guess. It bled like I was shot with an AK47. I was looking around the bathroom for the shave terroists...(the same guys who dull your blades when your at work) I was to cheap to go to the ER or a Clinic..(last time, it cost me 1000.00 usd with Federal Blue Cross/BS health care...Not Kidding) It took a while, maybe 30 minutes of direct pressure for it to stop bleeding...Good as new now, awaiting the next bone head cut....Same thing, 0 pain when it happend, I didn't know until I looked down and saw a sink full of blood...

Now that would be a good thread........The razor wound chronicals!
"The needs of the many out way the needs of the few or the one." Only if the 'few' or the 'one' are/is offering themselves (thru freewill) for the sacrifice. And not thru force from the 'many'.

I haven't cut my face in a while (knocks on wood) but day-before-yesterday after rinsing my razor I pushed a bit with my thumb for a better grip not realizing my thumb was on the heel of the razor--and I hone my razors all the way to the curve of the heel so it was sharp. I have a DEEP but short cut in my thumb now.

My wife asked how that happened...I told her I was cutting the string on a bale of hay that AM when I was feeing the horses and the blade popped up and cut my thumb...

    ...I know, I'm PATHETIC
