Wow!! What a GREAT idea! I'm trying to learn to use my non-dominate hand as well, and so far have only done so where I know I have total control. But, there's other areas where I've thought I should give it a try there, too, and lack the stones to do it.

I think, though, I'll take one of my ebay butter knife razors that I haven't sharpened yet and use it instead.

    Thanks roughkype!!

    I hold it with

one on the tang and one on the thumb notch

    and

two on the tang and one on the thumb notch

    and

    like a knife

depending on what I am doing.

Just get a comfortable, safe hold where you have very precise control of the edge. That's it.

Just do it slowly and with thought. After a while it will become second nature.

Excellent idea. I have done it myself. You may still want to put some tape on the business end of even a "dull" razor for practice purposes.

I mostly use #1, #3, and #6. Great link here to show you pictures of how to hold it. I agree with the earlier poster that said you should try to learn "the basics" and then modify to what suits you the best.

I use the exact same method. 1 for wtg. 3 for atg and 6 for xtg. with minor variations around my chin and tough spots.

    Default Both hands

I saw Lynn's shaving video and he shaved with either hand! I can hardly shave with one hand. I wish I could do that. Juan

Juan, I saw the video also. Lynn's up strokes are a thing to behold. Just keep working at what you are doing. Sometimes at the end of a shave, I will lather up again and practice different strokes with either hand just to start getting muscle memory going. Takes a little longer to shave but you are "honing" your shaving skills.

    Happy shaving.
