    Default One of those days

Ever have them? I had one tonight. Worst shave I've ever had.

Wasn't even rushing or anything, but nothing felt right while I was shaving. The razor didn't feel balanced, my strokes felt as alien to me as the first few times I shaved with a straight. Nicked myself 4 times, one of which is still bleeding close to 30 minutes later. I don't know what the hell happened with this shave, but it SUCKED.

Maybe next time it will go a little better.

Sometimes everything can go wrong and get a really bad shave. It happens to me as well once or twice a month.

I am still searching for the answer, myself. why can the same razor and setup produce such wildly different results? some days are great and i proudly wear a bbs shave and others i get stubble on hamburger. if things are going badly i usually cry uncle and ether stop all together or settle for a "cosmetic" shave that looks ok, but feels like sandpaper.

Yeah I managed to tough it out. Even through to the aftershave, which usually has a pleasant tingle/sting. But not tonight! The only way I can think to describe a shave like this is as if I was using someone else's arm to shave.

I'm not sure how long you've been in the SR game, but it is not uncommon to have "off days" within the first 6 months to a year. I'm not sure what to suggest, other than make sure your razor is sharp, use good prep and employ proper stropping & shaving technique (as in watch your angles and pressure). Other than that I'd say it's all down to practice.

It's been close to a year for me. I really haven't had any trouble with my shaves since i started learning here at SRP. I'm always trying to focus on my technique in stropping, prep, and the actual shave. But for whatever reason, nothing wanted to go right. Maybe its just because I was tired from all the new year's festivities.

If you're going to shave "as if I was using someone esle's arm" you might as well shave someone else's face.
