What Else?
Being a newbie, and still a little leery! Just wondering what everyone does to enhance the experince? I personally have found that I enjoy a nice cigar, and some Jonny Walker while listening to some Big Band/ Swing music helps put me in the right frame of mind!! I find that I'm more paying more attention to my shave! And less on the stress in my life, it is becoming very relaxing!!!!

One hand on the cigar...One hand on the scotch...the razor goes where? hehe...I too like a good cigar and a scotch usually not before I shave (particularly if I shave in the morning before work). I do find that some nice tunes really enhance the experience. Currently, I have Django and Paco de Lucia on heavy rotation.

I too like to listen to music when I shave. Usually I don't get to in the morning but when I know I have time to shave I put on the tunes. What really depends on the mood I'm in. If I really have time to relax I usually follow the shave with a games of pool and I am nice and content.

Thanked: 1195I'm a shaving minimalist - well, not with products and accessories at least . I never play music or anything, I enjoy the sound of whiskers being cut and lack of background noise. Sometimes I will indulge in a cold beer while shaving, too.
Afterwards I like to have pipe and perhaps another bevie, seems like a fitting reward for a fine shave.
PS - please not, this is an ideal WEEKEND shave for me, I'm not a total alcoholic

I tried a cigar once, but it made XTG passes a little tough.

Thanked: 993I like the peace and quiet. Sometimes I find that it's the only time I get to myself in a day. On the weekends these days I bring out the scuttle, and spend a little extra time lathering, but on the weekdays my lovely GF pours me a coffee while I'm in the shower and it's always sitting on the sink next to the razor when I get out. For me, that's perfect...

Turn on the radio and shave. Not so much into the nostalgic aspect of it, just love all the subtleties and nuances of the razor and shave itself.

On weekdays, my shave is one of the few moments of peace and quiet I get during the day, (that and the fact that I'm up at 5AM), so I prefer to just enjoy the experience. Weekends, on the other hand, I pair my shave with a mug of Trader Joe's Dark Roast Sumatran or Bay Blend and some selection of opera.
