Thanked: 1371Shave Cam - Trial Run
I wanted to see if I could capture a closeup view of what's happening at the skin level when a razor is shaving.
The following is the first test of the "Shave Cam". The video is not particularly informative, but I thought some of you might find it interesting...
I am shaving arm hair here. Notable is that other than the first two hairs the razor passes over, hair is being shaved here. It's just difficult to tell what is being cut or what isn't.
I'm not sure if I should try getting a closer view of the razor/skin interface, or if I should try getting a wider view so that it's easier to see what's happening.
Thoughts or feedback are appreciated.

I have some new components on the way to make a lighter weight rig that can be physically mounted on the blade at different angles. I think the big problem is going to be depth of field...
I should have the parts early next week.
Look for the next test about a week from now.![]()

I was hoping it'd be your face so we can compare it to your avatar. Was not what I expected.
Pretty neat, though -- keep 'em comin'!
