    Default Buying Advice

Hey guys... I'm getting a bit tired of using soap and a brush.. What are some recommendations for other products to use? I'm a bit of a cheapskate, so keep that in mind ..

guess you could always go for that magical dry shave stuff that was reviewed on the shave blog a while back and created all the stir here. . Otherwise it depends on why you're tired. Just tired of the time and effort it takes to work up the lather and all that? or just tired of the same ole same ole?

Both .. My brush is also dying, and I don't want to purchase a new one.

Cremo Cream works very well with or without a brush.

Visit www.appearancesformen.com. Check out the Face Tools and order the Cleanse 'N Shave. Jolene, one of our members here offers it, and it is fantastic. In fact, I have a review I need to post. I was totally blown away by this stuff...which is brushless, and I prefer using a brush!

ClassicShaving has a shave gel from Feather that you just rub on your face and shave. It isn't a bad product. I think it was mentioned in a thread months ago. I want to say RichZ also reviewed it. They don't appear to have the trial size version available any longer though. Make sure you check out http://straightrazorpalace.com/showthread.php?t=6780 which is discussing the Shave My Face line of brushless creams.

You HAVE TO try something from Lush. Their Ambrosia is amazing and cheep! a 260ml bottle will last many months.

Ok I finally found it. The stuff that created all the hubub here a while back. Lynn said he tried it. I don't recall any negative comments on it from those who actually tried it.

It's supposedly cheap for shaving. "Ultra shave" found at http://www.moderngent.com/

I haven't tried it. I plan on sticking with cup soaps and home made scuttles.

I have tried it ant it's crap. I tried also that Prince thing, same. It gums up my razor, and leave my face, well, anesthetized... I also have one brushless shaving creme from Korres, similar thing. What I would recommend is that you go in your nearest mall, and get The Body Shop large tub of shaving creme. It's ~10$, it's a great product, easily there with Taylor's, and it will last you easily a year...

    David,

I've tried the Palmolive in a tube; the brush kind, mind you but it does come in brushless. I don't care for the scent, but it was VERY cheap (<$2 if I remember right) and available at the drug store.

The Tom's of Maine Natural is also cheap (under $5) and also at SOME drug stores. It can be used with or without a brush and is one of my current favorites. I wrote a review in the soaps section.

Looks like you've got a lot of choices to try now!
