I had been wondering the same thing my first few shaves. I've just been setting it on the counter or leaning it against something soft so the blade isn't in contact with anything.

Play fetch with the new puppy. Naw, I just leave it open on the counter. I'm another one that jsut re-lathers, no rinse.

I never set it down, I'd be too scared a knocking it off the counter top or slicing myself by mistake.

My cats like to get in the bathroom as well and I wouldn't want them anywhere near it!
Yup, I do a variant of the same thing. Most of my shaves have occurred in one of three places--the basement of my old house at a pedestal sink, a gym locker room with a pedestal sink, and currently at my kitchen sink. In other words, I like my razors too much to risk putting them down during a shave. When I shave test multiple razors, I use a padded tray to keep them safe as I use them one by one.

+ 2 I have taken to stropping the blade a few times before I start my seccond pass. Nothing major, just 5 or 10 on each side.

I'm with Durham, with the exception that I wipe on my thmb and wipe my thumb on the washcloth.

I'm another lay-it-on-a-dry-towel-facing-upwards kind of guy. I've been doing this for nearly 3 years and I've yet to knock a razor on the floor (or in the sink) or inadvertently cut myself.

I like to juggle them. That way they stay in the air which promotes drying.

    Gentlemen:

Between passes I rinse the blade and leave it open on a cloth on the counter. Since I switch hands even while lathering — left hand for the left side and the right hand for the right — I found trying to hold the razor in my hand while lathering actually would call for a third hand. I suppose the Lord could have given us three hands, knowing some of the gentlemen shaver's requirements, but then civilization has drowned itself in a swamp of trouble with two hands already, so imagine what it bloody would do with three hands. Oy!

    Regards,

    Obie

Rinse, wipe clean, leave slightly open on the sink in a spot where I won't bump it.

I put it on a towel on the sink-open. I have no intention of jamming it into my cheek, I do that enough by accident as it is.
