Just had to talk about my new purchases :)
Recently I decided to buy some stuff because I am about to go to boot camp so might as well enjoy some stuff because its going to be a while before I get to again.
So I have recently bought:
Trufit and Hill 1805 Cologne
Nancy Boy Aftershave Gel
Nancy Boy Shave Cream
2 Clear Glass Atomizers from QED 1oz
Florida Water 6oz
Taylor of Old Bond Stree St James Shaving Cream
Rosemary Mint 100% Natural shaving soap from Sue
Elements of Bamboo Fragrance Shaving Soap from Sue
Only thing that has come in is the T/H 1805 and thats an awesome scent.

Is it possible to shave straight in boot-camp? If you hang a strop off your bunk and use a brushless creme, you should be able to shave right instead of using cheap plastic gismos.

Larry, remind me not to go to an Alabama boot camp. It sounds so barbaric lol. In any case I can think of better weapons for hand-hand combat than a straight razor:
-A sharpened chicken thigh-bone
-A sharpened toothbrush
-A pen
-A chair
-A can of pop in a sock
And you will be around firearms all the time.
The only concern I'd have is if someone decided to steal it, so I'd bring a couple of ugly looking ones. You could do a 2-pass shave in 5min if you cut out all the frills. Worst case scenario, shave the night before. You'll still have a cleaner-shaved face than people who just shaved, in the morning.

And what you say is true though but I hope its not so bad for someone that they resort to sharpening a chicken bone

I learned that one from a person who worked as a CO in a medium-security correctional facility. Just wanted to illustrate the point that anything can become a weapon and that a small stabbing weapon or a blunt weapon are more effective than a small slashing weapon.
As for Illinois... Remember the song Bad Bad Leroy Brown lol.

Thanked: 0I would think that the thing you really don't want to take is anything that says Nancy Boy on it.
It's not your fellow sufferees you need to worry about it's the DI
But seriously, good on ya for volunteering to join the military when there is actual danger.
Good Luck!

You probably won't have much time to shave anyway, so perhaps a nice DE will be a good option. A vintage Gillette adjustable would do the trick.

My apologies for the original post. I was convicted in my church service today about God judging us for every idle word spoken. Sometimes jokes are better left unsaid.Last edited by dennisthemenace; 08-06-2006 at 04:59 PM.
