I too drip water from my hand to my scuttle to re wet my lather. It's common when your new for your lather to dry out. Either the heat from your scuttle, or you taking a bit longer to shave. After some practice, both will come around. I have a Goatee, and with practice, you can trim around it pretty good with a str8. If you have to, a beard trimmer or DE will work in the mean time...
    Good Luck....

To control soap/water ratio, I leave the ever so slightly steady trickle from my sink and add water to my brush knot as needed. Works like a charm.

You can also go to walmart, shaving section and get the little bottle of shaving oil that you put on with hot water this will allow you to get a better and less skin damage to your face.

    Wow! You guys are great!!

I feel kind of bad not checking in here more often. Will try my best to do so from now on. Thanks for all the great advice.

The shave tonight...getting better every time I think. My motor skills are improving. I can control the razor much more finely than in the past. It's like chopping down individual "stalks of hair" now. Haha. Chin area is still not completely bbs but most areas are getting there.

I'm gonna want much more straight razor gear now. So far my Feather No-Sharpen has treated me very well.

Thanks again for the advice and words of encouragement!
