    Default Finally

After 7 months I have been able to shave with my straights again. I had a total knee replacement that developed some pretty bad complications. I still need at least 2 more surgeries, but things are starting to look better. Nice to get the BBS again!!

Welcome back! Take care with the rehab & good luck on the upcoming surgeries...you can offer to check the scalpel sharpness for the Doc and hone it if necessary...

Congrats on using the straights again! Do you know who manufactured the knee?

    Hello, Dan:

Congratulations on the knee surgery and the chance to shave again like a gentleman.

By the way, my wife had a knee replacement several months ago and now she marches faster than the infantry.

    Regards,

Welcome back Dan. I'm going to assume you ended up with blood clots or a PE(pulmonary embolus) and needed to be on coumadin for a few months. Glad you're back and happy shaving!!

    Welcome back Dan.

I hope that your recovery and subsequent surgeries will be without any additional complications.

    Take care--and smooth shaving.

Thanks all for your well wishes. Actually, I got a staph infection (Stapholoccocus Lugdenensis (SP?)) which required a second surgery. The infection is still there so they have to remove the prosthesis, cement the joint, wait for a few months, and, if the infection has not reappeared, put a new prosthesis in place. Ugh...

Oh man that sucks. Stay on the anti-biotics. Home IV in a picc line? Stay positive. I know mobility sucks like this but in time it will be repaired.

Sorry to hear that. I'm hoping for as much of a full recovery as possible for you. Take care of your self in the meantime.
