I use hot towl and hot water for pre shave prep. I would bet the problem is prep , since ,from what you day sound like the razor is sharp enough.

Still have minor problems trying to shave left side of face, but should come in time.Do you have any problem getting your face ready to shave? If you have just the basics pre soap, hot towel, before shaving. There are a lot of products out there that will make it easy to shave two products that I use is CREMO and PROVASO items. They have pre-shave items and other stuff ---what a difference and they smell great

I find I get cuts touching up areas after my regular shave. It might be angle, concentration, or maybe not enough lather or all of the above. Trying to get that BBS shave is most likely the major reason. A barber friend told me to strive for a close shave not a BBS.

Does it feel like the blade is sticking to your skin when you do touchups?

HEA there tex I am down the street from you in Victoria, texas.Have you tried Cremo or provaso ?CREMO will refund you the first tube you buy,in three weeks you get your money backCannot beat that any where.I am using the citrus cremo ,it has great mostirizors ,just rub in good, in the second pass with razor just a tiny bid of cremo-----works great.I never make a dry second pass ,the razor has to glide or else will hang up.

Yes, the blade feels like it is sticking even with more lather. I tried adding a few drops of water to the lather and that didn't help. Just trying to shave to close.

ONLY two things that I can see ,been there done that
    # 1 what ever you are using is not moisturing your beard, old shavings soaps, and gels sometimes do carry decent moisturizing agents.A pre shave pret will help a lot, some are made of creams and oils.
    # 2 If your blade drags its not sharp enough. What size is your blade?Does it have a straight bevel? If you do not have a bevel--you will never sharpen it for shaving I hope this helps.

When My mind is totally on the task, I am most likely to have a nick free shave.
I agree, that is why shaving can be a meditative experience, one mind, one task, one good shave.

Or put another way If the blade is on your face it is doing one of two things-shaving your face OR cutting your face.

When I started, I'd sometimes pause while thinking of what I'd do next-this pause was just enough to give me a cut from the razor I'd left against my skin.

I've now broken the habit- if I'm not shaving with the razor, it is off my face.
(I still experiment with trying different directions/techniques, but I sways take the blade off my face)

    Hope that makes sense,
    Michael
Thinking is a wrong word, focus, concentrate, lite pressure, focus on blade angle, and the sound of cutting whiskers. This is why people have problems with the golf swing, they think too much about it, actually it is a very simple motion to do, same with shaving. Don't Over Think !!!!
