The camping kit
I was camping this weekend down in Pescadero. Just because you're camping doesn't mean you can't get a BBS shave! I took my stainless Flaschner with me, some alum bloc, Cella soap, and trusty silvertip brush. I used a cardboard mail tube to store my brush, it's very durable and waterproof. A stainless razor is pretty useful on a camping trip as you don't have to worry about getting it spotless clean. I was lucky enough to have hot water! Since I didn't have a mug handy, I just face lathered which work out fine. I did sharpen and strop my Flaschner before leaving so that I could easily get 2-3 shaves out of it without a strop. My Kangaroo travel strop should be here this week from Australia!!
I picked up an AWESOME soap bowl at a local art fair, I just filled it with Tabac. Pics to follow!

Thanked: 983I just have a cheap brush, rough old Gotta, 'roo strop, tube of shave cream and an enamel wash basin for that sort of thing. I think I had a post on SoTD of my out bush kit. I'll see if I can find the photo for reference.
Here we are, more of a view of the scenery though, sorry about that. Just say the word and I will delete it from your thread...

Thanked: 983That funny little silver thing on the low stool in my pic...Although on that day I was ready to toss it down the paddock, I ended up just shaving by feel and checking for missed spots afterwards. There weren't any.

Thanked: 983That's easy enough to do, now that you mentioned it. But that's my little leather bound mirror, that was being battered too much by the breeze that day. I didn't have a handy nail sticking out anywhere to hang it. Just some bailing twine.
