I understand that swimmers need to be hydrodynamic, thus the leg shaving. The 'rest' is what's confusing me.
I can see two possible options.
1. You have a need for great speed in the water while nude (competitive skinny dipping?)
2. You have a significant other that requires you to have a razor-close shave on your unmentionables.
If it's (1), I have two questions: Do women compete in these competitions? and, if so, where and when do they take place?
If it's (2), I'm sorry.

Thanked: 5Well, I will say... I did shave the junk with a VERY sharp knife once, VERY VERY slowly! I think you are less likely to cut yourself with a knife than a straight razor. Their is not much that scares me, but I dont think my well have enough hair on my well you get the point to do it with a straight.

Thanked: 1587Now come on fellows - we've all gone "turkey neck" at one time in our lives....
All the advice I can give you is this: 1. legs should be pretty easy;
2. manly man-parts: stretching is vital. Allow me to expand...on second thoughts, perhaps I shouldn't.

Thanked: 2591IMO a DE will do much better job than SR for hair control on the body.
I have tried SR on the chest and arm pits and it works but DE is much faster and gives pretty similar results.Stefan

Legs aren't too bad. I've shaved my wife's a few times. Plenty of lather and a sharp blade. I used a shavette and used fresh blades for each leg. You may need to strop between legs with a regular straight.
As far as your junk is concerned- lather up, use short strokes. Never cut toward your twig & berries unless you don't mind negative consequences there.
I've not tried and have no intentions of trying it but I don't see why basic techniques would be any different than the face.

Thanked: 993I love wet shaving with a straight.....to a point.
I even do my lady's legs for her once in a while. It's fun for both of us.
However.....I'm not recommending putting 3" of steel near "Jimmy and the Twins". That, IMHO, is just asking for trouble. Eunuch trouble.

I tried it when I had to go in for the snip.
Not much fun to be had there. Due to the fact that there is 'stuff' there, it involves a lot of blade maneuvering and getting things out of the way. Straights are really unwieldy for that purpose. Also the skin type is different, making it more difficult to let the blade glide across the skin.
In the end I just use a trimmer, and then an old mach 3 to finish. That took less than 5 minutes, whereas the attempt with the straight was already taking much longer, and nowhere near 'BBS'.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
