I agree that my love for the straight razor despite not easily achieving a BBS in certain areas lies in the process of the shave rather than the end result. Don't get me wrong, my end result is exceptional even on my neck's curve, but if I was to split hairs (don't excuse the pun) then the shave is not always perfect, just as chopperdave mentions. My frustration lies in the unexpected experience of my statistically inferior plastic razor giving a more perfect shave in terms of closeness and number of strokes under my neck regardless of shave angle, direction, or shape of SR I choose.

BTW, gugi, you've taken this post way too seriously and have put way too much emotion into my posts. I didn't come here to offend anyone so apologies if I have. Also your definition of what trolling is is not correct I'm affraid. Just saying.

Fair enough. Just for my edification, how do you define trolling ?

Someone who trolls makes a deliberately offensive or provocative online posting with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them, which I didn't do. Maybe my experiences and views weren't in line with others but that's hardly trolling.

Okay, I can't speak for gugi, so I won't 'put words in his mouth and then quote him, but speaking for myself, as moderators we are exposed to more of the provocative than the average person. Someone presses the 'report this post' button and we are on it. So perhaps our 'spidey senses' are heightened.

When someone makes a first post on a forum dedicated to the pursuit of shaving with straight razors, and says that they get superior results with a plastic 3 blade cartridge razor it tends to lead a moderator to think there may be a nefarious motive, or hidden agenda.

I appreciate that and assure I have no negative intents. If you need me to provide ID details is be happy to provide them privately. Also just so I'm clear I'm only saying I have a superior shave with a plastic razor in a very specific context. Otherwise the rest of my shave is far superior with any of my SRs.

O.K. Everyone. How about we just drop this and start over fresh. Andonis why don't you Introduce yourself in a beginners thread. Your probably not a beginner but you are a newbie. Everyone will go back to being kind to one another and you can post your questions acomplisments, observations, etc, etc and every one will respond in kind manor.

...somebody might want to close this thread

In fact you did exactly this. You joined out of the blue with a provocative post which elicited upsetting and angry response in number of members who are heavily invested in this community, even if you are not privy to those.

You surely do not expect that anybody here believes you just discovered online forums. Normally people with a lot of experience are happy to stand behind it instead of concealing their history and hiding behind a newly created anonymous identity. Just saying.

You can certainly do as you like, but if you are really interested in being part of this community and contribute in a positive manner, you need to demonstrate that your statements are backed with actions.

Just to add my two cents.
But thats why alot of us here like the shorties.
Those are str8s, that have had damage at or near the toe. And have been cut shorter than average.
It allows us better control in the hollow of the neck, at least for myself, YMMV.
Even after my 30 yrs experience with a str8, I still have difficulties with ATG on certain parts of my neck.
But still can't wait for the next shave.

    Peace brother

We always prefer to give someone the benefit of the doubt. That is why you are still able to post. No need for ID details privately. Perhaps leaving this thread, and posting an intro in the beginner's forum, as Mafuzul suggested, would be the best course of action to defuse this situation. From there on out, just enjoy the forum and post what and when you like.

Yes please go on to the beginners forum and ntroduce yourself. You sound like you have some knowledge and wisdom on the subject. Being so you can give back to the community of us who are new to SR shaving but who might have experience in other areas of shaving like myself. I though I was a expert on DE shaving until some people on here helped me out. Now my shaves are 100 percent better now even. Its not always what someone will say or do, but how they present it. I don't think your a bad person or nothing but you do have to admit the way you came off still leads to a hint of suspicion.

Just introduce yourself and have fun and learn and teach and give as well as take. Hey were a rare bunch that the normal population wouldn't understand. Why fight among ourselves, ENOUGH said lets all move on.
