I shave my GF"s legs but I use a DE (I just don't trust myself with the straight yet) She likes MWF scent and the feel of hot lather from the scuttle (and she's extra "appreciative" afterwards LOL )

I figured better to do a little and have her enjoy it than to try to much and have her not enjoy it. She enjoyed it but I was unable to give her a good shave so now she is not very believing that a straight or even a DE razor would be much different that what she already is getting with a store bought razor. I was hoping someone could help me out on a good way to shave her legs that I could try out in a couple of nights and hopefully get a better result.
Been shaving the wife's legs for a long time now, works great as an excuse when I want to buy more toys <wink> any ways you have gotten great advice thus far. As with shaving the face it's all about a good razor and technique, and leg prep is vitally important, plus they love the pampering.

My gal hates the straight, she has let me shave her legs before but she doesn't "see the point". Her reasoning is it takes too long... I did buy her a Schick injector that she has tried, but there is still a slight learning curve compared to her normal way. I also throw in the better shave/ lower cost. She joined the forum a few weeks ago seeking help with finding me a soap I would like for my birthday, and has since been caught browsing the ladies section. She is now toying with the idea of an alternate method of shaving. In the past I have found she hates "razor" talk (as much as I hate "shoe" talk)...IF she asks a question I answer her, but I wait for her to ask or express interest. Which has helped cause now she is gaining interest instead of getting a blank stare dreaming about puppies and kittens or whatever else goes through her head when razors get brought up

I tried once, maybe that was a contributing factor to the divorce.

I shaved my wife's legs last night the same way I shave. Oil, nice cream, shaving, post shave balm. SHE LOVED IT!! Then I figured this may turn into a regular thing and I am wondering if it was the right thing to do. I mean... I don't mind pampering her and shaving her legs, but...

    this is what i do:
let her soak in a hot tub while i make some hot lather. then i sit on the edge of the tub so im in a stable position. i have her stretch her leg out and rest her foot on my chest when i shave the top and outter side of her calf. when i shave the back or inside i will hold her ankle and lift her leg up. i start off by lathering her leg really well. then i make strokes with the grain which is down for my lady. i start on the outside of the calf. i save the ankle for last. the knees are really hard though. then i move onto the next leg. after that i relather her and then go from the bottom up starting with the first leg and the outside of the calf again. when she gets out of the bath i splash some aftershave on her and then massage cream on her legs. the shave will last for a few days. she loves it. i make sure im really slow and steady. i try and make it all about her. pamper her. light some candles and relax her. the more relaxed you are and the more confident you are the more relaxed and confident in you she will be.
also maybe put some barbasol on her legs and a hot towel and let them rest like that while you make the hot lather if you dont want to do it in the tub.

My girl loves the nostalgia behind wet shaving and decided to treat her legs like I do my face. We've tried numerous amounts of diffrent razors, blades, oils, lathers etc etc. She loves the close shave of a shavette, but admires the experience of getting shaved with a 5/8 full hollow. It's great to hear about other couples enjoying it as well.
