Default Which do you do first?

I've started going ATG on the first pass then touch up after with XTG. And i find it good, not sure why i used to work my way up from WTG then XTG and finally ATG. Just wondering if it's normal? or if it's not a good idea.

All that matters is that it works for you. I've tried to go atg with a first pass but I have a thick beard and it was fairly uncomfortable for me.

I also have a thick beard and I use the beard reduction method by going WTG, then XTG and ATG

I do 2 pass WTG and few touch ups in goatee area. My beard isn't that thick I guess compared to some I've seen but my razors sure don't seem to like it. I may need to start keeping my strop and balsa hone beside me for the second pass.

WTG first pass, then second pass is a mixture of ATG (in the easier areas) and XTG in places where it's difficult to get ATG (hollows to the sides of Adam's apple) or where it seems too dangerous to go ATG (upper lip - don't like the idea of going towards my nose.) Sometimes a touch-up (ATG) in difficult spots like hollows of neck and just below my jaw.

I vote for WTG then ATG. But it's more like Matt69 have described

I always start with a WTG pass.
After that it is usually a XTG in one direction followed by, on some spots, a XTG in the opposite direction.
Finally, I do a ATG on the spots that still need it to provide a BBS shave.

There's never a place on my face that gets more than 3 passes though

My process depends on what's happening that evening.

If I'm not honing, I'll do a nice two or three pass shave in the morning. If I am honing in the evening, I'll only do one pass so I have a bit of stubble.

I like to be clean shaven each morning before I leave the house for work....my obsessiveness doesn't leave me any choice.

My face won't tolerate ATG from any razor system, so it's wtg only for me and the results are more than acceptable.
