Default dry shave with a SR

I was wondering if you could or should try to dry shave with a straight razor.I have dry shave with a disposable single and multi blade when I was in my 20s. I mean when I started to shave. I did not like the can foam so I just shaved with no prep. and no water. when my dad seen me shave like this he bought me an electric did not like it,to harsh after about two month razor burn every where. I hated to shave at all. now that I started to shave like a real man and obsessed with the straight razor shave I fell like trying to dry shave although I love the warm shave. anyway what are your thoughts on dry shave with a straight razor.

management I new to all this if I not posted in right spot please move to where it should be thank you.

I think it would hurt too much for me.

For 15 years I was a splash and shave person. little water on the disposable and shave.

I have on a couple of occasions had to touch up a missed spot with a straight where i did a dry shave to get it. Not comfortable at all. I would not recommend it.

It could be done, but I'm not going to try it tough.

I have been known to dry shave part of my side burns (about 3mm) after honing just to test out the edge. It is not something which I would wish to repeat across my whole face though.

WTG with a shavette and it still rips hair out 3/4 way through the shave no matter the prep, cream etc etc. Dry shaving with a straight defeats the purpose of the shave routine IMO
