A dermatologist told me that unless you get really dirty every day, you should only shower 3 days a week and wash your hair only once a week. He told me that if I absolutely had to shower every day, only use soap the three days a week, otherwise just water. Washing the oils off your skin every day can cause an over production of the natural oils in your skin and can cause serious skin problems.

I have to agree with most of the posts here. I shave every other day and I think it helps with the quality of the shave. Luckily I have a job that does not require me to be clean shaven every morning.
I find that I find mysefl looking forward to "shave day" thinking about which razor and which cream and or soap I am going to use! Sad I know but true

My oldest son had to see a dermtologist for skin tags and she said the same thing, that dont mean Im going to do that!!!
wash the butt, scrub the teeth and comb the hair (what I have left) every day..... shave about two to three times a week. It just feels better.

We had a similar post here a while ago, about how much grub,is your favorite to shave, If i recall correctly the mean answer was 2-4day worth of stubble.

I have to shave every day for work. Just lately however, I try not to shave on my weekends (Friday and Saturday in Qatar), it's very satisfying taking 2 days growth off

Edit: forgot to add, I face lather and it feels great scrubbing that Semogue boar brush into 2 days of stubble.

Yah, I get a much better shave with more than a days worth of growth. I whip out the big Wade & Butcher & that baby mows my steel wool right off.

I take a little time between shaves as well, although very rarely more than 24 hours

Makes for better face lathering, too.

My wife has never used soap on her face in all the time I've known her, citing the reasons mentioned above.

I rarely soap on my face for the same reasons since my first break out in my teens. By rarely I mean never unless I have car work grease on my face, and then I use the most diluted amount I can to break that stuff down.

And I had a most epic fail on the daily shave attempt. 1 time, and it wasnt that great then life got in the way for the whole week. Shave on tues AM next shave was monday AM. niiiice
