Rust during first shave with brand new Dovo!
5 minutes into to my best quality dovo. This is what happened to my razor
I had to stop during my shave fearing that it would get worse. I could understand if I didn't clean the blade and scales and close it up but this is a little much. I tried rubbing alcohol but that did not work. Can anyone help me? I am freaking out

Thanked: 334snipz:
That does not look like rust to me -- are you sure that is rust? It almost looks like the factory-applied wash is disintegrating or coming off. One thing I definitely would do is I'd send Dovo that pic along with your purchase receipt to them and await their reply.

I've had water spots on a polished blade following the shave. I didn't see them until the shave was done so I'm not sure how quickly the blade was affected. Can't say for sure but I'm betting it is something in your water and/or your shaving soap or cream. A metal polish, such as semichrome or maas, applied with a q-tip and rubbed out with a paper towel may get rid of it.

I have tried rubbing it off as hard a possible with a paper towel and some warm water. Nothing happens. I used the VDH set from walmart and I got the razor from SRD

Thanked: 4942This actually looks like water was in the scales and then the razor closed in them for some time.

I got the razor on Monday and used it today. Is there any way to get rid of it. Maas polish maybe?

Thanked: 4942You could try a little Maas and rub it lightly. What does the other side look like?? If it doesn't work, send it to me and I'll throw it on the buffers for you and we'll see what's up.

Just a little on the top. I suppose the wash is coming off. Edit: Maas didn't do anything

Thanked: 4942It really looks like water staining to me, especially with it being on the back side at the top too. I'll be happy to put it on the buffer for ya.

I would be grateful if you wouldn't mind. Can you please send me a pm of the address and how I can pay for return postage
Quick question to anyone. If this is caused by water damage like Lynn thinks, will a stainless steel razor get rust spots or any water damage?Last edited by snipz; 06-28-2012 at 02:28 AM.
