    Im a lefty too!

Heres me thinking i was a rare breed!!!

I must admit that i only use my left hand to shave. I tried with my right hand and i couldnt get it. Thimgs became slightly dangerous and i could of ended up with a face like silvester stallones mum so for that reason i wont try with my right again.

My left hand has never let me down....

    Righty here.

When I first started it scared the stuffins' out of me to put that sharp blade in my left hand to my tender cheek. But, after forcing myself to do it, and go s-l-o-w, I now have the confidence and skill to not even worry about it.

As "The Duke" said: "Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway."

I'll be honest with you, the reason I learned to shave with both hands is that I had trouble reaching places with the opposite hand. I think you were wise to at least try using both hands. Over time, you become more agile and can eventually get where you want.

One hazard of learning this is something I experienced. About a month or two into straight shaving I was concentrating so hard on technique that I cut my thumb down to the tendon switching hands and had to have four stitches. The hardest part about learning straight shaving is being distracted from what you are doing by thinking about your next move. Be careful folks!

Default Help With Left Handed Shaving

When I started shaving abidexteriously I did the tooth brush trick (brushing my teeth w/ left hand) and I found that it worked well. Of course when it comes to shaving I would have to say the best help is actual practice.

I shave with both hands now but it took awhile to get used to. I started to do everything with my left hand, brushing my teeth, opening doors with keys etc. It took a few weeks to get the hang of shaving, scared the crap out of me holding a razor against my jugular with my left hand!!
I dream of a world where a chicken can cross a road without having it's motives questioned.

Default help with left handed shaving.

I am a lefty as well but shave with two hands. Left handed folks are always using their right hand more than righties use their left since the world is built right handed.

i am pretty much the exact opposite to you, write, play tennis, brush teeth, all left, throw with right hand, but kick with the left, pistol left hand, rifle right hand. Straight shave both hands, so i think it may be easier for people like us to pick up using both hands, and there is evidence that at the very least, using your off hand whether you are left or right handed improves brain function.

They say that the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body and the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, so, therefore, only left handed people are in their right minds.
    I'm right handed. I'm worried.

No worries. Us Cajuns are resourceful people. Some of us just do it backwards. It's all good.

Both my parents were right-handed. Kind of fulfills the "Life is a box of chocolates" theory
