Like mentioned above, I pull the razor from the top of my face to the bottom of my neck in one motion on the first pass.

If you have trouble pulling from top to bottom, two things could help:
    1) razor sharpness
    2) razor weight (the heavier the razor, the easier it will make that move)
Wow... you must have almost no hair compared to me. Plus my beard is really coarse lol. Like I said, takes me an hour still...
    Name's Reony. I'm not really a dork...

I think your razor either isn't sharp enough or your razor isn't heavy enough. I probably would be in the top 3rd or quarter of the population for how much hair I have on my face.

If you need a gauge for peak sharpness, buy a feather straight, use it for a while, and then sell it. It will give you an idea of what you can do with a sharp razor.

As you get more experience, you should have enough touch to pull any straight razor from top to bottom, though if your hair is really thick, a heavier razor will make it so that you have to pay less attention doing it. BUT, you could do it with a lightweight 5/8 cmon no matter who you are, unless it's just not sharp enough.
